Wine Tour
 

 

Day 1:
Depart Atlanta to Paris

Day 2:
Board train for 2 hour ride to Caen
Pick up Mini Bus at train station
Drive to the Chateau or Gite for four nights

Day 3:
Visit the Memorial de Caen museum
This self-guided tour gives an overall view of the history from 1918 to present day.

After visiting the museum we will head to Utah and Omaha beaches for a guided tour of the landing sites and the American Cemetery.

Day 4:
Drive along the coast to the cities of Deauville, which I call the Riviera of the north.  Deauville is a charming town full of beautiful hotels, casino, beaches, race track and the famous beachside catwalk.  Across the river is the town of Trouville, an old fishing village.

Honfleur is another old port city that had become an artist’s haven.  Along the way to these towns we will stop at various street markets.

Day 5:
At your leisure.  We can visit more of the interior towns of Lisieux and Bayeux and/or parks of Normandy.

Day 6:
Drive 3 hours to Mont Saint-Michel, a castle on its own island.  After visiting Mont Saint-Michel, we will drive to Cartres in the Loire Valley.  We will stop at Alencon, known for its lace making tradition “Alencon stitch”.

Day 7:
Visit the Chartres Cathedral and wine caves.

Day 8:
Proceed to Paris “the city of light”.  We will stop and visit Versailles.  Afternoon in Paris at your leisure.  Visit d’Orsay art museum, go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, shop.  Evening ride on the Seine River.

Day 9:
Half day city tour, to include Norte-Dame and Opera house.  Visit the Louvre and Tuileries gardes.

Day 10:
Return to Atlanta
